Happy King’s Day!
Today is the day that the country of Holland celebrates the King’s (or Queen’s) birthday. Everyone dresses in a sea of orange and gathers along the canals to enjoy the festivities. On this day anyone can sell anything on the sidewalk. People tape out their “stands” the night before. You can buy anything from used clothes to a tasty snack!
Laura’s friends rented a boat which was awesome! We rode through the canals all afternoon with our music blaring – it was a non-stop dance party! We would dance along with other boats as they came by and pose for the tourists in the canal tour boats. There was so much confetti being thrown around that we had it in our hair, in our clothes, and our shoes.
Needless to say it was an epic day!
