LONDON – hello and goodbye!

Our honeymoon has started off with quite the epic journey for the first leg. Our flight didn’t leave until later Saturday evening on Sept 28th. We arrived at the airport plenty early (thanks to Brett!) which turned out to be nice because we got to enjoy a nice dinner before boarding. Unfortunately our plane was slightly delayed which was a bit annoying however we got off the ground witness no issues. The flight itself was interesting since it as essentially an overnight. In order to make the most of our brief touchdown in London we needed to get rest on the plane. This proved to be a bit difficult on such a long flight but eventually we got some shut eye and landed in London just after 1 PM on Sunday.

From the airport we took the overground train into London, then transferred to the Underground to get close to our hotel. It was a bit misty/light rain however the temperature was very enjoyable! Our hotel, The Cuckcoo No. 1 has turned out to be very cute! There is a pub in the main entrance and we were happily welcomed upon our check in. The staff was super friendly as well as the locals. We had a nice chat with John who told us of his recent trip to Utah of all places!

After a much needed shower we set out walking the neighborhood in search of a great place to get dinner. We ended up at this amazing small, bustling and genuinely authentic Italian pizzeria. The pizza was beyond good and would rival if not beat pretty much all of the pizza we have had.

We are planning to take in some more sights around the area, including the infamous Emirates Stadium before we head to Prague tomorrow. It’s been a whirlwind of traveling in the last 24 hours but we are beyond excited to be on our trip enjoying our time as a newly married couple and experiencing the world together.

Cheerio!!
